ABOUT ME

What began as a remote writing career fifteen years ago has seen me grow to a sought-after Managing Director, Communications, Events and MEL. With a proven track record as an internationally published, award-winning storyteller, I am often the organization’s senior-most communications and knowledge management expert, administrating comprehensive strategies designed to strengthen reputation, practice and media relations. I put storytelling at the center of all my work and I am committed to identifying compelling narratives that amplify individual and collective voices.

I have contributed masterpieces to a portfolio of creative projects, including Brave Voices and Stories in the 54.

Prior to joining Next Einstein Forum, I served as Acting Director of Corporate Communications at the Centre for Development Studies. I developed strategic communications campaigns that enhanced the brand reputation and relevance of corporate and nonprofit clients, such as Future Earth, IsDB, the World Bank and IFAD. I also provided strategic counsel, oversaw issues management, and crafted executive level thought leadership. Previously, I worked as Bilingual Communications Specialist for CORAF-WECARD & AfricaLead (by USAID), where as a member of the strategy and external affairs team, I raised awareness and credibility for the organizations as content provider, Nurturing Enterprising Youth with Agricultural Technologies (or NEYAT) manager, and information management adviser. As Specialist of Public Affairs and Communications, I developed and implemented a public affairs strategy that advanced the agenda of SDG Labs-Africa. Earlier in my career, I was an opinion writer for the Guardian and political analyst for Thisday and Tell.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Philosophy from Canisius University College in the DRC and my Master’s in Mass Communications from the University of Paris, France.

My writings have been commissioned by Commonwealth Writers for Safe House: Explorations in Creative Nonfiction (Dundurn, 2016), Commonwealth Now (Griffith, 2017) and adda (2018), the Commonwealth Writers’ online gathering of stories, to name but a few. The author of The Peacekeeper’s Wife (Amalion, 2015), I am currently finishing a second novel.
